Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Human Resources Generalist to be based out of our global headquarters in Harvey, IL. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Compliance, Analytics and Standard Work, this position will be responsible for supporting the talent acquisition process, performing change management within our HRIS, support onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, ensuring data integrity within our systems, and supporting learning and development initiatives via our Learning Management System (LMS). This role will be responsible for supporting various areas of the business based on identified needs, which may include intermittent travel to alternate locations.

What you'll do:



  • Utilization of our HRIS system and ensuring timely and thorough collection of system data
  • Use evidence and data to identify people priorities for the business and address future workforce needs
  • Steward and drive business and employee Engagement and Alignment
  • Manage and resolving employee relations issues within location(s) of responsibility
  • Steering robust onboarding and immersion of new hires using company tools and procedures
  • Supporting the company's talent acquisition process in their facility by owning candidate sourcing, interview coordination and new hire implementation
  • Participating in Talent Acquisition interview panels where required
  • Align and contribute to the company's Lean methodologies as well as participating in business or HR GEMBA walks and board metrics contribution
  • Partner with HR and leadership teams to drive talent management and performance management, which includes succession planning, training and development, performance review completion, etc.
  • Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS), management and employee surveys, exit/stay interviews, employment records, labor statistics, industry/competitors' practices, and other sources
  • Facilitates implementation of new training, development, and other related initiatives as needed
  • May conduct or assist with conducting classification audits to ensure that jobs are properly classified regarding FLSA, Workers Comp, EEO Categories, etc.
  • Provide administrative support within HRIS platforms, such as our Learning Management System (LMS), and our Recruiting and Onboarding platforms
  • Proactively research and maintain a working knowledge of essential regulatory requirements and systems to appropriately to ensure compliance within employment practices, policies, etc.
  • Partner with the Compliance Manager in report outs to leaders on HR Compliance related activities
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to support the strategic vision and objectives of both the HR Function and the organization
  • All other duties as assigned


What you'll bring:



  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a Human Resources
  • Strong analytics/reporting experience preferred
  • Relevant experience with LMS technology a plus
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong organization and task discipline
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore immersion program
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy
  • Gain an understanding of your role, the HR organization, and the organization you support
  • Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team owns
  • Become familiar with HR standard work practices and expectations


Within 6-months, you'll:



  • Establish strong working relationships with your peers and the leadership team(s) you support
  • Be leading the recruitment process for the salaried and hourly openings in the areas of the business you support
  • Assume basic level reporting requirements, and begin supporting other HRIS platforms as assigned
  • Participate in project assignments within the Talent Commitment Action Plan


Within 12-months, you'll:



  • Identify and lead process improvement activities within the HR Function
  • Support the performance and development of employees, leaders and the HR staff
  • Provide on-site HR support to areas of the business that require it
  • Assume mid-level reporting requirements for the HR function

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $62,160 - $85,470. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
