Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced systems Desktop Engineer to join our national intelligence program in Northern Virginia that delivers engineering, application development, deployment, operations, upgrades and sustainment of products and services to achieve our client's global missions.

The successful Desktop Engineer candidate will be an analytical thinker with attention to detail; have working knowledge of computers and other hardware devices, network troubleshooting, software distribution and patch management; and working knowledge with ticket-based support systems.

Responsibilities:

    Manage computers, devices and systems for the program, including conducting software deployment, providing hardware installation and handling of user/ client support.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop PCs, mobile devices and peripherals, such as printers.
  • Install and configure application and operating system software and upgrades.
  • Provide program technical support for hardware, software and systems.
  • Deploy system software and network updates.
  • Develop and implement desktop update schedules.
  • Install, repair, and maintain hardware.
  • Troubleshoot system, software, hardware and network to proactively resolve issues and their root causes.
  • Respond to requests for technical support.
  • Provide technical problem solving and recommendations to technical solutions.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop PCs, mobile devices and peripherals, such as printers.
  • Install and configure application and operating system software and upgrades.
  • Remove old equipment and perform data migration to new machines.
  • Maintain inventory of installed software, managing software licensing, and creating policies and procedures for upgrades.
  • Work with hardware and software vendors to verify timely product delivery and ensure that new equipment is installed and ready to operate on schedule.
  • Analyze and make technical recommendations for hardware and software standardization.
  • Develop, implement and maintain processes, procedures, test cases, test results, issue resolutions, performance analysis, and user guidelines/ instructions documentation.
  • Travel 10 % may be required within the National Capital Region (NCR) on an as needed basis for customer or corporate requirements.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to pass a counter-intelligence scope (CI) Poly clearances.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience or PhD with 3 years relevant experience).
  • Previous experience working as a PC Technician or other IT Support roles that provided the experience needed to be successful in the Desktop Engineer role.
  • Current CISSP or Security + Certification.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly clearances.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT I or DoD 8570.01-M IAT II certification.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

This Position requires an Active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain a CI Poly, US Citizenship is required to hold this clearance.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
