Title: Health Educator - PFAS $54,121.60 - $90,792/ Posted Thru: 2/9/2025 Location: Remote/Virtual - Must Live and Work in Michigan Occasional In-Person Work at Lansing, MI Office Required Purpose: This position is primarily responsible for providing health education development support to the Environmental Health Bureau. The Health Educator - PFAS will work in cooperation with technical subject-area experts within the bureau in addition to external stakeholders, to develop strategic statewide and localized educational campaigns with the goal of protecting public health. Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications/Requirements: Education: Possession of a master's degree in public health, health communication, health policy or a public health related field such as nursing, epidemiology, health education, health economics, dietetics/nutrition management, genetics, or speech and audiology; a master's degree in social work; master's degree in counseling; master's degree in special education with specialization in blind/visual disabilities; or a master's degree in public or business administration with a health care concentration. Experience: No experience required. Two or more years of experience in health education, community outreach, health communications, or public relations preferred. Important Skills and Characteristics:
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: The employee may transport supplies public events around the state. Events are usually outside, and the employee may be exposed to local weather conditions. Items and supplies can be bulky and weigh up to 40lbs. Requires a valid vehicle operator's license and occasional travel within the state, including overnights. Less frequently, travel may be required outside of the state. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: No assigned responsibility. IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: This position has a direct impact on the quality of services provided by MPHI to MDHHS.
