Director Portfolio Advisor
What you will be doing: This position is primarily responsible for ensuring optimal utilization of contracts in a specific area (Clinical or Technical) of Premier's contract portfolio by:
* Providing thought leadership to project strategies pertaining to contract uptake and contract analysis. * Serve as the primary liaison to Premier field staff and customers in all aspects of the specific portfolio. * Driving cross functional customer support incorporating internal (field staff, sourcing, contract management, Supplier VPs) and external (sales staff, marketing, analytics, etc.) to assist customers in driving contract penetration, member value and savings. * Observe and recommend options to address quality outcomes and resource utilization issues. * Utilize Sales Force for opportunity management. * Directly influencing purchase decisions with various levels of hospital administration and staff including pharmacy, supply chain, nursing, physicians, administration, etc. * Participate in projects as needed to fully support the specific service line. * Manage responses for purchase decision support, including line-item price validation, comparative quote analyses, and face -to-face and telephone consultation, etc. * Creation and facilitation of member and staff education on product usage and cost efficiencies with various other internal and external subject matter experts. * Provide clinical/technical oversight to contracting staff in the development of contract launch and promotional materials, surveys, second sourcing events, product planning initiatives, and category specific committee meetings/presentations. * Support cross reference opportunities, development of launch materials, and market intelligence for specified categories. * Collaborate as needed with other service line personnel to meet member needs. Key Responsibilities Responsibility #1- 35% Manage analytical activities associated with validating the line-item pricing and discounts quoted by Premier suppliers, and identifying, resolving and/or escalating discrepancies to contracting representatives. Present cost savings opportunities. Perform technical analyses of competing quotations to help members differentiate products and fully comprehend value proposition. Responsibility #2 - 25% Perform technical analyses of competing quotations for specified clinical categories to help members differentiate products and fully comprehend value proposition. Responsibility #3 - 10% Share knowledge of supplier market and technology with sourcing staff and members to improve contract/product decisions, help resolve issues and increase revenue. Responsibility #4 - 10% Engage Supplier VPs, field force representatives, Product Planning, Contract Management, consultants, and supplier representative in activities aimed at increasing contract utilization/uptake. Utilization of Sales Force Tools. Responsibility #5 - 10% Conduct research necessary to maintain subject matter expertise of supplier and competitive products over the entire range of products, equipment, and technologies. Required Qualifications Work Experience: Years of Applicable Experience - 7 or more years
Education: Bachelors (Required)
Preferred Qualifications Skills: * Financial Acumen * Supplier Relations * Project Management Operations Experience:
- Purchasing, supply chain, sales and/or marketing experience preferred
- Proficient in utilization of Sales Force
- 2+ years Medical Device industry experience
- Perioperative Services/Surgical Services experience preferred

Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $99,000 - $185,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
