Solvere Technical Group seeks an individual to provide Support Services for maintenance, overhaul, and upkeep of US Army Watercraft. The work requires "hands-on" experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components of diverse marine machinery and their attachments. The candidate must be able to support work involving the dismantling, repairing, relocating, modifying, maintaining, aligning, and installing a variety of marine engines (diesel), generators (diesel), machinery, HVAC, and systems. The service is for systems such as propulsion, electrical, machinery, and HVAC, etc.

This includes detailed knowledge of the operating characteristics of the involved engines, machinery, equipment, and systems; their functional relationships; the applicable installation and repair procedures, methods, and trade practices; and the unique environmental conditions under which work is performed aboard marine craft, for example, the lack of space between bulkheads and decks and the proximity of one type of machinery to another.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Perform engine, electrical, equipment and component assessments and repairs

    • Be able to identify failures and potential failures
    • Be able to assess the condition of boat and components


  • Perform regular schedule boat maintenance to include the following:

    • Oil and filter changes
    • Greasing
    • Component replacement
    • Cleaning/ safety gear
    • Component repair


  • Conduct operational testing and quality inspections:

    • Conduct operationally testing on the boat as required




  • Experienced with marine propulsion diesels
  • Experienced with John Deere marine diesel
  • Experienced with jet drive propulsion systems (preferred)
  • Experienced with diesel generators
  • Experienced with electrical systems
  • Experienced with hydraulics
  • ABYC certifications (preferred)


Job Qualifications:



  • Must have High School Diploma.
  • Must possess minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a marine machinery mechanic/electrician working in a marine maintenance environment.
  • Requires experience using various Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must provide your own standard tools and toolbox. (Specialty tools provided)


Certifications:



  • MTU - desired, but not required
  • Marine Electrical Certifications - desired, but not required
  • HVAC Certifications - desired, but not required


Security:



  • Must pass a standard background check
  • Must be able to obtain a CAC


Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to work in an office, industrial or shipboard environment
  • Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature
  • Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift


Place of Performance:



  • This position is "onsite" and work will be done at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii
  • MUST already reside in Oahu (no exceptions)


Schedule:



  • Usually a minimum of an 8-hour shift
  • Usually Monday to Friday ("Onsite" at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii)
  • Need to be flexible based on Crews Schedule
