The Perception team at Waymo is at the heart of our Autonomous Vehicles with a mission to perceive and represent everything from pedestrians to vehicles to tail phenomena. Perception Evaluation is the System's arm of the Perception team, which builds and owns the quality metrics of Perception's onboard and offboard systems. This spans areas from a high functioning and performant onboard real-time system to offboard systems that support our Machine Learning development including data extraction, model development, debugging, and data mining.

In this role,

You will:



  • Be tasked to improve the evaluation pipelines in Waymo Perception to support onboard engineers in both regression prevention and quality hillclimbing
  • Build systems to land on the team's ML roadmap
  • Design and implement shared data and modeling infrastructure


You have:



  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent to 3+ years of experience
  • C++ or Python programming experience


We Prefer:



  • M.S. degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field with a specialization of machine learning.
  • 3+ years experience developing infrastructure for large-scale data processing and analysis
  • 3+ year experience with Computer Vision evaluation pipelines, and automated framework for ML approaches.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
