Job Summary: We are seeking a Lead Collector to be the team Leader for our Collections department, supporting and guiding the efforts to ensure collections. This is a temp-to-possible hire opportunity in the NW Houston area. This hybrid role involves record transactions meticulously in Get Paid, Navision, and BC accounting systems. Additionally, the candidate will adeptly lead dispute resolution and reconcile overpayments, misapplications, and unapplied cash. The Collections Lead will work hands-on with the Collections team fostering collaboration and innovation. Hunter Hamilton offers hourly weekly pay, direct deposit and temporary health benefits!

Key Responsibilities:

* Collaborate and support the Collections team on day-to-day operations.

* Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts- Customer calls, payment status via customer portals, account adjustments, customer reconciliations

* Workflow Management: Prioritize and assess daily workflows to ensure timely execution, meeting, or exceeding goals.

* Review and Assist with New Hire Training: Actively participate in maintaining a robust new hire training process and assist with policy/procedure documentation. * System Matter Expert: Oversee all AR functions, facilitate effective training, and ensure efficient team operations.

* Accurate Reporting: Ensure detailed and accurate reporting.

* Debt Monitoring: Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts and review bad debt.

* Credit Holds: Review daily credit holds and justify releases to Manager if overdue.

* Preparation and analysis of data and reports.

* Manage the Escalation process.

* Prepare KPI's and weekly reports for management.

* Organizes monthly meetings to communicate information and guidance from AR manager and to review policies, procedures, and best practices.

* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and customers, gaining a deep understanding of their payment arrangements.

* Prepared the forecast, weekly account reviews with each AR Clerk and reporting functions that are required daily/weekly.

* Issue Notification: Notify management of ongoing account issues potentially leading to credit hold and bankruptcy status.

* 3 rd party collections - Manage and review accounts that need to be sent to 3rd party collections and keep thorough records.

* File and process and bankruptcy claim with accurate record keeping.

* Additional Duties: other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

* Experience with Microsoft Office and accounting systems preferred.

* Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.

* Knowledge of SOX compliance controls preferred.

* Good organizational skills.

* Associate or bachelor's Degree is highly preferred, but experience may be substituted for education.

* Hands-on participation in process/workflow design including team member involvement across the department.

* Prior experience collaborating with a team is highly preferred.

* 5+ years of accounting or equivalent experience
