Test Engineer

Position Summary:

As a Test Engineer, you will support the U.S. Navy. The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining technical test of network and cyber security related system. Duties may include defining and specifying the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of government software.

Clearance Specifications


  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee execution of unit and software test plans
  • Develop and implement unit tests to verify required functionality of software applications
  • Troubleshoot network and computer hardware and software related issues
  • Train end users on using and maintaining SABER (Situational Awareness, Boundary Enforcement & Response) system
  • Plan and oversee Verification & Validation (V&V) of data models
  • Tracing requirements


Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an Engineering field required
  • 1-5 years of experience in a test environment
  • Secret clearance and government experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software test suites (e.g., JUnit)
  • Familiar with Linux and Windows environments


Physical Demands and Expectations

  • Regular physical activities such as walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, and prolonged sitting.
  • Ability to carry up to 30 lbs. and navigate a shipboard environment.
  • 35% travel may be required
