Assists supervisor by performing on-site functions in the daily operation of an assigned facility or shift, with emphasis on a strong on-site presence during peak use times, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in the absence of the Supervisor:
1. Initiates contact and builds relationship with park guests, particularly reservation groups, to accommodate their needs to the highest degree possible;
2. Under direction of supervisor, promptly responds to and resolves issues raised by park guests;
3. Keeps supervisor appraised of issues related to high-risk facilities to ensure a safe operation.
Under the guidance of the Parks Manager or Parks Guest Services Supervisor, develops and applies knowledge and techniques of:
4. Facility scheduling and operations;
5. How to interpret and apply comprehensive organizational policies and procedures in daily work/management activities;
6. The budgeting process, including monitoring of operational/staffing budget, report generation and analysis, and proposed modifications.
Learns and applies management techniques by providing work direction to seasonal employees and volunteers and works with the Park Guest Services Supervisor to train seasonal employees and volunteers, as assigned.
7. Develops and applies knowledge and techniques of seasonal employee recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, and evaluations;
8. Develops a monthly schedule for seasonal employees which maximizes efficiency while providing excellent guest service.
Under direction, assists with facility services, such as concession and point of sale operations. Assisting with implementing operations at assigned facilities in accordance with established operating procedures;
9. Develops and applies knowledge and techniques of revenue collection, bank deposits, reconciliation, and report generation. Assists with revenue-handling procedures related to facility operations. Reports issues to Park Guest Services Supervisor with recommendations for resolution;
Leads or assists with outdoor recreation and education programs, as assigned. Develops and applies knowledge and techniques of the:
10. Development and organization of recreation programming;
11. Program evaluation and analysis.
12. Works on special project assignments that may include new park initiatives, special reporting needs, or seasonal data collection for Washington County or other agencies as assigned;
13. Assists the Natural Resources Coordinator on initiatives related to natural resource management;
14. Assists maintenance supervisor on park maintenance initiatives;
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
