Data Engineer

In your first 30 days, you will:

• Onboard with the data engineering team to understand workflows, tools, and team dynamics.
• Review and familiarize yourself with the current Azure-based data infrastructure, including Azure Data Factory and SQL Server.
• Understand the existing pipelines, data models, and key data sources.
• Learn and support existing data products to ensure continuity and alignment with organizational goals.
• Gain insights into our current reporting and visualization tools, such as Sisense.

In your first 3 months, you will:

• Develop, deploy, and optimize data pipelines in Azure to support scalable and reliable data processing.
• Collaborate with the data acquisition team to implement data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory.
• Create and maintain robust data models and ensure data quality across SQL Server and related platforms.
• Identify opportunities to optimize current data architecture and processes.

In your first 6 months, you will:

• Expand data engineering capabilities to include Big Data solutions, leveraging tools like Databricks and Snowflake as applicable.
• Develop advanced reporting and visualization capabilities using Sisense.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data solutions align with corporate goals and deliver meaningful insights to stakeholders.
• Establish performance metrics and monitor the efficiency and accuracy of data pipelines.

In your first 12 months, you will:

• Implement Big Data technologies to future-proof our data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product team to support advanced data-driven initiatives, including AI integrations.
• Document and maintain best practices for data engineering processes, ensuring consistent and reliable operations.
• Production support and rollout of existing products to new client organizations

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
• Strong expertise in Azure technologies, including Azure Data Factory and SQL Server.
• Knowledge of Stored Procedures, Indexes, UDF's, Views, and Datawarehousing best practices
• Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize ETL/ELT workflows.

Preferred:

• Experience with Big Data pipelines, leveraging tools such as Databricks or Snowflake.
• Familiarity with data visualization platforms like Sisense and Power BI.
• Knowledge of cloud-based analytics architectures and advanced data modeling techniques.
• Knowledge of ASP.NET, C#, or React
• Experience with AI/ML/Generative AI
