Columbia University in the City of New York: Columbia University Irving Medical Center: Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons: Medicine: Medicine - Digestive and Liver Diseases Location 02 Open Date Dec 29, 2023 Salary Range or Pay Grade $77,000 Description Associate Research Scientist - Digestive and Liver Diseases Wang Lab requires an investigator at the level of Associate Research Scientist, with expertise on the methodology of growing organoids (intestine, gastric, pancreatic) in 3D culture. The Associate Research Scientist is expected to apply skills and information acquired during doctoral studies and postdoctoral research, to investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of pancreatic cancer, as well as intestinal biology. This scientist is expected to complete a major manuscript in preparation that defines the role of a new neural pathway in the invasion and metastases of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The incumbent will also lead investigations of the role of the p38 kinase in the regeneration of intestinal stem cells following irradiation. They will support the ongoing and future research efforts of our lab and provide mentorship to junior members of our lab, including early-state postdoctoral fellows. Qualifications MD, PhD, or both. 3 years experience performing laboratory research related to the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of pancreatic cancer, as well as intestinal biology. |
