JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, a Division 1 and Big Ten Conference Institution, is seeking candidates for Assistant Director, Strategy and Analytics.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of scholarship, operating, and personnel budgets to provide strategic insights that maximize the effective use of ICA departmental funds.
  • Help manage, analyze and optimize scholarship allocations, revenue-sharing commitments, and athlete marketing agreements.
  • Collaborate closely with program coaches to establish and oversee annual scholarship budgets and allocations.
  • Forecast future recruiting class needs and offer strategic recommendations to enhance athlete compensation resources.
  • Monitor and track expenditures for current rosters to ensure adherence to budget constraints throughout the academic year.
  • Prepare detailed reports and provide data-driven insights to the ICA Executive Staff to ensure compliance with NCAA and university regulations.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures for scholarship funding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of related experience in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Strong analytical and forecasting abilities, with acute attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Tableau and/or similar analytical software and tools.
  • Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills and the capability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Big Ten Conference regulations concerning financial aid and scholarships.
  • Ability to develop strategic initiatives that bolster the financial health of the athletic department.

This position will require the successful completion of standard background checks.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
