ISO New England is the not-for-profit, independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England's ongoing transition to clean energy.

This position is a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on real-world outcomes for furthering New England's clean-energy transition. In this role, you will support one of the ISO's key wholesale electricity markets initiatives and other future initiatives by providing core project management tasks for the design, stakeholder, and regulatory phases of the project lifecycle which involves collaborating with cross-functional teams of subject matter experts across the organization.

  • Hybrid work schedule with 2-3days/week onsite in Holyoke, MA Office

    • 2-3 days/month onsite in Windsor, CT office as needed

How you will make an impact



  • Collaborate with project managers on project strategy and administration for the Capacity Auction Reforms initiative, taking on responsibility for full project management of subprojects areas as requested
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across the organization to facilitate the design and delivery of critical deliverables for the stakeholder and regulatory process by leveraging interpersonal skills, technical expertise, and a high degree of comfort with ambiguity and diverse personalities
  • Develop and maintain project artifacts and documentation such as project charters, scope documents, risk registers, etc.
  • Build and maintain project and sub-project plans in Microsoft Project (for project team) and Asana (for Participant Relations and Services department)
  • Track project progress and deliverables, collaborating with teams to identify and resolve challenges
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain dashboards, presentations, reports
  • Provide meeting support, from scheduling to material development (agendas and minutes) to facilitation
  • Administer project management resources such as SharePoint, Microsoft Project, and Asana


What we are looking for



  • Bachelor's degree in a business discipline, information systems, communications, or other related degree; Project Management Professional Certification preferred but not required
  • Highly collaborative detail-oriented individual with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse array of colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to drive teams to decisions in a matrixed environment where you may not have direct managerial responsibility for team members
  • Experience with managing or participating in cross-functional projects covering complex technical topics
  • Working knowledge of core project management principles and practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Asana or demonstrated technical ability with similar software and ability to learn quickly
  • Energy market or power system experience highly valued
