Overview

Job Summary

Supervises the administrative, technical and analytical work in the design, development and enhancements of computer systems for the System. Assists, plans, organizes, and directs the day-to-day operations of the IS organization including internal processes, budget management, project staffing and status reporting. Leads in the development, engineering and implementation of processes and methodologies that will be used within IS and the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Manages the design, installation and support of sophisticated information systems utilizing vendor and in-house developed software packages.
  • Manages the administrative activities of the hospital Information Systems section of Information Services Division, including the development of work plans, procedures, training plans, computer job accountability, and supervision of project team personnel.
  • Provides assistance in the administration, planning and coordination of information processing activities.
  • Assists and advises user agencies and Information Services personnel on policies and procedures relating to the adoption and development of computer systems in a complex multi-entity provider environment.

Physical Requirements
Work environment is subject to high-level visibility through verbal and written communications with senior hospital management, resource planning decisions, associated project deadlines, personnel evaluation and counseling. Must be able to lift objects that weigh up to 35 pounds. Each employee has the responsibility to work in a safe manner.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Master's Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science preferred. 5 years experience managing the design, development, installation and support of distributed systems in an environment utilizing micros, mid-range, and multiple operating systems preferred. Experience in a healthcare environment preferred. Experience with the implementation of Managed Care products is preferred.
