Job Summary

The FIU Office of Scholarships is currently seeking a Student Assistant Financial Wellness - Administrative & Marketing to join their team of professionals to provide administrative support to both the Office of Scholarships Team and the Office of Scholarships Financial Wellness program. The Office of Scholarships Student Assistant is to provide administrative support, assist with student engagement, and promote financial literacy within the Florida International University community. The role combines administrative tasks with creative marketing to advance the departments initiatives, support content creation, and empower students to achieve their financial goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with other day-to-day operational and/or administrative functions. Serve as the primary point of contact for the department by responding to phone calls and emails promptly, professionally, and accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with university policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, directing students to appropriate resources, and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Conduct outreach by making phone calls to schedule Financial Wellness Program coaching sessions and promote department services, ensuring to input and maintain accurate data, cases, and session reports in our relationship management systems and departmental files, to track student interactions and program outcomes.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote scholarship resources and financial wellness initiatives and services to the university community.
  • Design and create engaging digital and print content for the department, including flyers, brochures, social media posts, and financial wellness program monthly newsletter. Ensure all communication and marketing materials align with the universitys brand guidelines and uphold the mission of the department.
  • Maintain and update the department's social media channels and website with current information, events, and resources.
  • Create and execute social media campaigns and email communication plan that increase awareness and participation in department services and initiatives.
  • Develop reports and presentations showcasing the departments impact, outreach efforts, and engagement metrics. Utilizing CRM platforms and data management tools, including Peoplesoft, Salesforce, Canva, and Hubspot.
  • Assist in the coordination and facilitation of workshops, tabling events, and interactive activities.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors to support the overall goals of the department.
Minimum Qualifications

At least 3 semesters of FIU work experience or related experience outside the University with satisfactory or higher from prior student appointment.

Requires a letter of recommendation from one prior supervisor.

Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.

Ability to work in a team setting.

Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office Suites.

Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.

Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.

Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software programs, such as PantherSoft and Salesforce.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally, and in writing.

Possess a high sense of responsibility and customer service skills.

Ability to solve problems independently.

Organizational and time-management skills.

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.
  • Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.
