13J10 Fire Control Specialist Instructor (13 Series AIT Instructor Services) **Position is Contingent Upon Contract Award** Location: Onsite @ Fires Center of Excellence (FCoE), 428th FA BDE, Fort Sill, OK Employment Class: Regular Full Time Hourly Rate: $27.72 per hour Position Summary: Potawatomi Training, LLC (a federal government contractor) is seeking qualified AIT Instructors to support 13J AIT Instruction within the Field Artillery Campus located at Fort Sill, OK. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction to 13J MOS AIT students.
- Follow approved Programs of Instruction for 13 J MOS and prepare to teach to standard the contents of each lesson plan subject.
- Make modifications to adapt material to the needs of the class
- Ensure total time, training devices use, and topics are in accordance with the approved POIs and lesson plans.
- Present classroom and field instruction on technical capabilities of the equipment and systems associated with each of the 13 J MOS (AFATDS and AMP-V)
- This includes but is not limited to classroom, hands-on, simulation/virtual field environment and exercises, combat scenario driven, and live fire in a realistic and safe environment
- Ensure class begins and ends on time IAW with government approved schedule
- Ensure all required resources are on hand and in good working condition prior to the beginning of scheduled training
- Present classroom and field instruction on the preparation, operations, and maintenance procedures required for 13J MOS systems and equipment (AFATDS and AMP-V).
- Present instruction on the individual and crew level skills, tasks, and duties necessary for the doctrinal employment and operation of the 13J MOS systems and equipment.
- Administer examination, evaluate test results, correlate test results of the students' ability, and provide recommendations to academic deficiency panels on changes and student status.
- Use prescribed texts, student outlines, advance sheets, worksheets, technical and field manuals, schematics, logic diagrams, and miscellaneous publications in preparation and conduct of FA TADDS support
- Follow instructional techniques and procedures in all associated regulations.
- Analyze AIT individual and class academic duty performance and provide recommendations for improvement on course materials, methods of instruction, and performance evaluation when requested.
- Conduct periodic review of the POI to ensure material and instruction agree with current, applicable doctrinal publications, and make recommendations to update POI
- Incorporate all approved updates
- Analyze training materials to ensure instructional techniques are effective and efficient.
- Ensure training objectives are met
- Apply professional knowledge of learning theory, design, and tests and measurement in developing and updating training material
- Ensure newly developed materials are consistent and accurate in content.
- Validate instruction prior to implementation
- Review and prepare lesson plans for each period of instruction assigned.
- Determining and selecting the instructional methods
- Constructing questions for inclusion in course examinations
- Revising lesson plans to include updated course material
- Adjusting lesson plans to accommodate and motivate a diverse student population
- Participate in the Courseware Development Team and contribute to the development, research, and updates of course materials.
- Participate in Student Monitoring and Evaluation by monitoring student progress
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of the courses
- Maintain instructor certification standards to include being formally evaluated quarterly
- Continual education self-education on emerging technological advances and system upgrades to systems and equipment
- Assist in preparation, set up, and tear-down of necessary equipment, including vehicles prior to and at the conclusion of daily operations.
- Perform limited emergency repairs such as changing tires, fuse replacements.
- Clean vehicles and equipment when returning from field training utilizing wash racks and pressure washing facilities.
- Ensure loading/unloading and operation of military equipment/system vehicles is done safely, and that cargo and military personnel are appropriately protected.
Experience & Basic Qualifications:
- Qualified on and demonstrate the proper employment and operation of the listed Army equipment and systems associated with the MOS:
- 13J: Multiple Launch Rocket System:
- Digital Systems: AN/GHyK-63, VRC-92F, OE-254
- Generator Set: 5KW 50/60HZ
- Manual Fire Control: Plotting Set, Artillery Fire Control, Graphical Firing Table, Graphical Site Table, Tabular Firing Table
- Vehicles: LMTV/FMTV
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a 13J Fire Control Specialist MOS:
- The five years' experience must be within the last 10 years.
- Proof of experience is required.
- Any combination of the following if accepted as proof: DD Form 214, Enlisted Records Brief, Lieutenant or Junior Captain, Warrant/Officer Records Brief, NCOER, of Certificate of Completion (13J MOS Qualified).
- Experience in the organization, planning, and development of training courses
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to physically lift over 75 pounds and stand while instructing for long periods of time
- Licensed to operate the military vehicles corresponding to his or her specifically assigned MOS within 90 days of hire (Government vans, stake bed trucks, HMMWVs and FMTVs)
- Must maintain a positive Army and Fires Center of Excellence image, in appearance, attitude, and conduct. Contractor employees shall at minimum wear slacks with a belt, collared shirt, and no tennis shoes during simulations or classroom instruction. No hats will be worn indoors unless there is a verifiable medical reason to do so. Contractor instructors shall read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently and maintain good communication skills with cadre and students.
