Description

SUMMARY: The Physical Therapist serves to aid the sports medicine staff in multiple capacities. They will act under the direction of the Head Team Physician and Head Athletic Trainer. The Revolution Physical Therapist will work as a trained medical professional who not only assists professional athletes in preventing sporting induced injuries but also to rehabilitate injuries that are sustained by the players during play.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Assist and work under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer with daily activities pertaining to the medical coverage of the New England Revolution while working collaboratively with other members of the medical performance team (athletic trainers, massage therapist, performance specialists to perform daily departmental tasks
  2. Administer appropriate treatment and care (manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, first aid, passive modalities, return to sport testing, etc.) as indicated to athletes.
  3. Supervise and instruct athletes during therapeutic exercise.
  4. Track and document daily injuries.
  5. Communicate with coaching staff, management, and physicians about injured player status and anything related to the players status.
  6. Maintain a safe and healthy athletic training room.
  7. Schedule appointments for athletes.
  8. Assist and oversee the rehabilitation plans of care for 1st team to academy level.
  9. Perform player tests, measurements and evaluations to aid in developing and/or revising specifics of the treatment program.
  10. Utilize screening information to develop prehabilitation protocols and interventions if necessary
  11. Travel to away games, as needed.
  12. Be on-site for training sessions, weight room sessions, and home games.
  13. Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
  14. Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAA.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy
  • Must be licensed, or eligible for licensure, in the state of Massachusetts for either PT/ATC
  • Must be certified in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer
  • Must have three (3) years of elite experience defined as: Minimum three years of experience with elite athletes, preferably including soccer players. Experience with elite athletes includes direct involvement in collegiate, professional, Olympic, tactical (e.g., Special Forces, Service Academies), performance (e.g., Cirque du Soleil, Performing Arts) or equivalent professions
  • Able to use Computer-based injury tracking software
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) a plus
  • Professional/High level Soccer experience a plus
  • Must have attention to detail and focused concentration
  • Must be able to learn new tasks and complete tasks independently
  • Must be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflow
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and responsiveness
  • Must be able to adhere to process protocol and must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS



  • Board Certified Physical Therapist DPT
  • Must be Licensed (or eligible) in the state of Massachusetts
  • Must be certified in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer
