Electric - Represents CPS Energy Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) services to optimize loads and resources in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) Real Time and Day Ahead Markets. Power trading with market counterparties to improve overall financial position. Follows ERCOT, Texas Reliability Entity (Texas RE), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulations, protocols and operational guidelines ensuring compliance for CPS Energy with its load and generation requirements. An Energy Controller I should be capable of demonstrating knowledge and performing the following tasks at an entry level:
Market Operations Responsibilities
Gas Operations Responsibilities
Minimum Skills Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Marketing, Generation Dispatch, Instrumentation, Electronics, Computer Science or relevant field OR Gas/Power Plant Control Room Operations or Electric Grid System Operations experience.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling.
Must be an independent thinker with the ability to make sound decisions based on available information.
Must have favorable driving record.
Support at 12-hour, rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Qualifications

General office environment with the ability to sit/stand for long periods of time. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
Occasional travel away from the San Antonio area for periods of up to a week or longer to attend training sessions or other business-related events.
Occasional visits to all areas of the power plant site may be required. This position will be required to work a rotating shift schedule and is subject to being called in to assist in case of emergency at all times. Physical Demands
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.
