Under the general direction of the EMS Medical Control Officer & EMS Medical Director, it ensures that quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives are carried out and EMS providers in the regions deliver quality patient care. Provides educational services to both hospital staff and EMS providers in the regions. This position will be integral to the Paramedic Program educational process for new paramedics. Qualifications EDUCATION Paramedic Program certification and license. Associate's Degree in a related health sciences field or equivalent. EXPERIENCE 2-Years EMS Experience as a Paramedic, QA/QI experience preferred. Critical Care paramedic experience preferred. LICENSURE National Registry Paramedic, CT Paramedic License, AHA Instructor certificates for ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications, NAEMT Courses as needed. CT Emergency Medical Services Instructor required. SPECIAL SKILLS Knowledge of National EMS Scope of Practice, Connecticut EMS regulations and statutes, EMS education and training methods, team building, time management, supervision, communication skills, and problem-solving.
