Summary:
The Clinical Nutrition Manager establishes policies and procedures relating to patient nutritional care, has the responsibility of developing and implementing programs to meet the current and projected nutritional needs of the inpatient and outpatient populations serviced by the Southern Maine Health Care, supervises the Nutrition Office staff (Clinical Dietitians, Dietetic Techs, Dietary Assistant, Food Service Attendants) in the performance of assigned duties, and provides direct service to inpatients as needed or requested. In the absence of the Food Service Manager, has responsibility for the direction of the Food Service and Cafeteria. Duties also include participation as a key member of the Nutrition Support Team, working closely with Department Supervisors and Manager to provide direct patient care and service as needed to cover for staff vacancies.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Degree in Dietetics from an approved college or university preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Staff Clinical Dietitian. Ability to work and communicate effectively with staff and physicians.
  4. Registered by the American Dietetic Association required.
  5. Patients, physicians, staff, patients' families and outside agencies. Requires high degree of tact and discretion.
