Position Title: Claims Specialist Business Unit: INSA Reports to: Manager of Claims Position Overview: This position works directly with our clients as well as our Property & Casualty Sales Executives in relation to claims. This position possesses a high degree of technical knowledge when it comes to coverage reviews on Property & Casualty claims as well as understanding the coverages to ensure the claims are filed under the correct policy. Extensive knowledge of the claims process and coverages are important when claims consulting and claims advocacy is needed with our customers. This position requires a small amount of travel to meet with customers. Minimal supervision is required. Primary Responsibilities: Commercial Claims Reporting-Responsible for the reporting of incoming claims and lawsuits to the insurance carrier Workers Compensation Mod Reviews- Will work with the Mod Analysis Application in order to do projections for our customers WC Mods. Loss Data information is reviewed and input as well as updated payroll information. Claims Advocacy/Review of Coverages-Provides Claims Counseling and pre-claims counseling as needed to our customers. Review of coverages prior to putting in a claim as well as for reviewing denials to make sure there is not coverage on the claim. Working as a liaison between the customer and the adjuster through more difficult claims. Follow Up on Existing Claims to monitor progress, payments and timely handling. In person meeting with customers for Claims Reviews as well as review up claim trends that may have an impact on the customers policy. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
