Student Nurse Extern (Summer 2025) National Rehabilitation Hospital

Are you looking for an opportunity to improve your critical thinking and fundamental skills? Come join us at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital for our Summer 2025 Student Nurse Extern Cohort! The Summer 2025 StudentNurse Extern Cohort will begin in June 2025 and will run for 8 weeks. You will be working 36 hours per week. After successful completion of the cohort, you will have the opportunity to remain on staff in a flexible position (one shift per week), leading up to graduation.

MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) is an award-winning inpatient care hospital located in the heart of Washington, D.C., specializing in treating persons with physical disabilities, including spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, arthritis, amputation, multiple sclerosis, post-polio syndrome, orthopedic, and other neurological conditions.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment as a senior nursing student (or entering senior year) in an RN program. Must be graduating in
  December 2025 or May 2026. Official transcripts will be required at time of hire and at the end of each semester to validate active enrollment.

• No clinical experience outside of nursing school is required.

• Active Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required at time of hire.
