Responsibilities

Overview:

The Learning and Development team at REI Systems is looking to grow! We are a fast-growing team looking for an entry-level self-motivated individual who can understand and support organizational goals and initiatives related to employee learning and development. The L&D team works directly with all members of the REI community to create and sustain effective learning opportunities focused on supporting employee's delivery of innovative products and services.

Reporting to the Director of Learning and Development, the Associate Training Specialist, will support creation, development, and implementation of training and professional development programs for employees. The right candidate embodies excellence in learning and development, collaboration, communication, and customer service.

Responsibilities:
    Supports creation and administration of training and development programs in delivery formats including instructor-led, self-paced, online, hybrid, and in person.
  • Creates innovative, engaging, and effective learning materials to include eLearning, help videos, instructor-led training courses, user guides, tip sheets, wiki pages, email communications, etc.
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
  • Supports evaluation of program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
  • Oversees system administration for organizational learning technologies.
  • Serves as primary customer service and support resource.
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
  • Performs other related duties as required.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field.

(A combination of associate-level education, training, or relevant experience may be considered in place of a bachelor's degree.)

Experience:

  • At least 1 year experience developing instructional materials, technical writing/editing, and facilitation in an adult environment.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Self-motivated and disciplined, with capacity to work on multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and within time constraints.
  • Exceptional customer service, teamwork, creativity, and analytical
  • Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a proficiency in writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting of user-friendly, employee-ready materials.
  • Advanced expertise using MS Office products.
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding follow-through.
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with organizational stakeholders and creative teams.
  • Familiar with a variety of Instructional Design concepts, best practices, and procedures a plus.
  • Experience with Section 508 compliance a plus.
  • Experience using Cornerstone LMS, Adobe Creative Cloud apps, video and animation development tools a plus.

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance is preferred.

Location: Hybrid - Every Wenesday onsite in Sterling, VA

Salary Range: $50K/yr - $60K/yr based on experience.
