Position Overview:

Ensure that all Knapheide supplier products and processes meet high quality standards, drive continuous improvement of quality, and maintain quality records for both internal and customer use. Understand the importance of upholding quality in satisfying customer requirements; take the appropriate actions to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner and communicated to the applicable departments.

Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Support the maintenance and execution of the KMAN Supplier Quality Management System
  • Maintain and administer Supplier Quality Tickets via the KMAN ticket system to ensure requests are prioritized/fulfilled in a timely manner
  • Validate Supplier PPAP/First Article Inspections and maintain records
  • Execute incoming receiving inspections and verification audits of supplied products to assure compliance with our engineering prints, manufacturing procedures, and quality standards
  • Coordinate containment of defective products and initiate Supplier Corrective Action Requests via ticket system as necessary
  • Assist/Support continuous improvement of the KMAN Supplier Quality Management system
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping via execution of 6s procedures/tasks


Position Requirements:



  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent combo. of education, training, and work experience in a QA related function is required.
  • Candidate must demonstrate excellent print reading skills along with the ability to use measuring devices.
  • Must successfully complete a 24-hour Weld Training course and be ASME Level 2 certified in VT nondestructive testing within 3mnths of hire.
  • Must have the ability to gather variable/statistical data.
  • Must possess ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional team members and groups of people is a necessity.
  • Ideal applicant will possess the ability to organize work, prioritize due dates, and keep records (some computer skills required).
  • Flexibility in work schedule is a necessity (Scheduled hours may overlap other shifts as necessary).
  • Travel 10% of work schedule


Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position:



  • Normal standing, bending, walking and lifting associated with office and shop floor environments
  • Must be able to work outdoors in normal environmental conditions
  • Must possess strong sense of responsibility and self-accounting
  • Must be able to perform with limited supervision and ensure timely execution of tasks (prioritizing thoroughness, accuracy, and completeness of work and records kept thereof)
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and via email with individuals at all levels of the organization
