OVERVIEW
We are currently searching for a skilled professional to join a well-known client's team as a Medical Technologist III in Santa Clara, CA. The Medical Technologist III role will have a strong background in medical technology and demonstrated expertise in performing and analyzing diagnostic tests in a clinical setting. This is a per diem role, ideal for candidates seeking flexible work hours in a collaborative and innovative environment. RESPONSIBILITIES * Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids (e.g., blood, urine, spinal fluid) to identify normal and abnormal components. * Examine blood cells, their numbers, and morphology. * Perform blood group typing, compatibility testing, and other transfusion-related procedures. * Analyze and interpret test results; document findings in the laboratory information system. * Perform quality control procedures to ensure clinical data accuracy. * Participate in medical research under the direction of the Chief Medical Technologist. * Conduct routine preventive maintenance on assigned instruments and ensure their functionality through calibration and troubleshooting. * Maintain accurate records of instrument logs, repairs, and maintenance. * Train and supervise students and junior staff as required. * Review blood film slides and identify abnormalities. EXPERIENCE * At least 2-3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory, particularly in hematology EDUCATION * Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Medical Technology (ASCP certified). * Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification is required.
