What You'll Do in This Position

Provide landlord-type support services for the larger, complex, mainly administrative facilities, and other buildings, their occupants, and adjacent outside grounds. Typical services include the preparation and define scope of work, and the coordination of facility maintenance plans.

Coordinate building, equipment, and utilities maintenance, repair and alteration for one or more assigned facilities, including adjacent outside grounds, as appropriate. Approves all building modifications. Issues maintenance work request and follows task to completion. Serves as point-of-contact, and often as Subcontract Technical Representative for facility related subcontract work; monitors work of subcontractor(s) to ensure compliance to SRNS standards and policies. Handles all work clearance permits, coordinates lockout procedures and SIRIM (Site Item Reporting and Issue Management) activities. Participates in OSHA inspections of assigned facilities. Prepares job plans for all area works. Maintains supply stock for routine facility maintenance and operation, and resolves landlord-type employee issues and requests.Perform workspace planning and forecast facility needs/options for optimum utilization, including offices (layout and design), support areas (lunchrooms and bathrooms), utilities, furniture, and business equipment. Coordinates funding for new construction or remodeling with Finance Department and Projects Management. Coordinates furniture installation, maintenance of inventory, and disposition of excess, as appropriate.Arrange for relocation of facility occupants due to reassignment, consolidation, etc., including the provision for temporary housing to accommodate displaced personnel resulting from short-term inconveniences, such as building or area renovations, for example. Convey the status of assigned facility(s) to responsible oncoming shift personnel, where appropriate, to ensure complete awareness of conditions which may effect safety, quality, production, or other conduct of operations performance parameters. Provide guidance and occasional direction to less experienced Facility Management personnel in the execution of their responsibilities. Provide other typical support services such as: management of facility car pool; requests for health protection surveys; facility safety equipment inspections; field property administration duties; and coordinating facility emergency planning, training/coordination of assigned personnel. These miscellaneous duty assignments vary in quantity and scope from one facility assignment to another.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications We Desire

College degree in business, civil, construction or industrial engineering preferred.
Experience in the following areas desirable: work control, E&I/Maintenance, OSHA standards, inventory control, fire department, plant/office design/layout, or subcontract technical representative.
Specialized knowledge in the following areas would benefit the incumbent in successfully executing assigned responsibilities: basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems; basic building codes and OSHA standards; Site Item Reporting and Issue Management; computer maintenance; office design/layout and computer aided design; and procurement processes including inventory control.
