Job Summary

The Plant Superintendent is responsible for supervision of the plant management team and administration of company policy as well as ensuring equipment, buildings, and grounds are sanitary and in good repair.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain efficient and timely production of all raw materials received into high quality finished products.
  • Schedules and supervises the Plant Manager, Maintenance Manager, and Production Foreman and monitors their performance to maintain high standards.
  • Controls vendor pricing by periodically checking current prices, value of service, and quality; plans stock orders to minimize money spent on emergency ordering.
  • Develops goals to improve plant operations in all areas.
  • Determines the reason for any loss of quality or production efficiency and eliminates it before the next production period.
  • Coordinates loading of finished products.
  • Submits Daily Production and Energy Reports.
  • Monitors and manage environmental programs and equipment.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of rendering or similar industry experience.
  • Demonstrated project and administrative management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Detail oriented; highly organized.
  • Must have a strong desire to excel with an emphasis placed on teaching skills necessary for others to do the same.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter; self-motivated.
  • Strong mechanical background with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Good math and computer skills.
  • "Hands-on" manager with knowledge in production equipment, boilers, wastewater and air treatment.
