At Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services, we are helping to create brighter, healthier futures for our patients and their families. We are the Piedmont Triad's only private psychiatric hospital meeting the chemical dependency illnesses and behavioral healthcare needs of those in our community. Our 164-bed inpatient services for adolescents through senior adulthood offers comprehensive and individual assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning. We also offer a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program to ensure the continuum of care for our patients. Old Vineyard is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

We are passionate about our work and are looking for individuals who share in this passion. We are currently seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to join our talented and caring team. Our ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking skills, great communication skills with the ability to engage positively with patients, staff, families, providers, etc., Must work well under pressure with several competing priorities and maintain professionalism at all times.

Housekeeping Supervisor, FT (weekdays 7:30am - 4pm - must work every other weekend)

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and daily operations of the Housekeeping department and staff ensuring the maintenance of a clean, healthy and pleasant environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Position Duties:

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping department
  • Ensures adequate staffing and assigns projects/sets daily work priorities and tasks.
  • Ensures a constant state of readiness for regulatory visits from a cleanliness perspective.
  • Provides staff supervision to include scheduling, timekeeping, and performance management.
  • Performs audits and inspections to ensure proper cleaning methods, thoroughness, and timeliness of cleaning tasks.
  • Interviews and selects new housekeeping staff. Responsible for ensuring new staff are oriented to position duties and expectations.
  • Conducts position-specific training individually or as a group to Houisekeeping staff ensuring they have regular, on-going learning opportunities.
  • Performs own Housekeeping assignment, performing the regular duties of a Healthcare Housekeeper.
  • Participates in all required training and in-service programs for the position.
  • Participates in activities which enhance own professional growth and development.

Qualifications

General Job Requirements

Education - High School Graduate or Equivalent

Technical Experience - Minimum five years' experience in healthcare housekeeping. Three years' experience in a supervisory role.

License/Certification - Current NC Driver's License with a good driving record as verified by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety required.

Skills - High school level reading, writing and math skills. Oral communication skills. Legible handwriting. Ability to concentrate in high traffic areas. Able to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality. Ability to interact with employees and patients with professionalism. Ability to work independently with minimal oversite.

Physical Requirements

  • Climbing, ability to ascent and descent ladders, stairs, using feet, legs, hands and arms.

  • Ability to maintain equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching.

  • Stooping, bending downward and forward by bending at the waist; kneeling by bending at the knees; ability to come to rest on one or both knees.

  • Crouching, crawling, moving about on hands and knees.

  • Reaching, extending hands and arms in any direction.

  • Standing for sustained periods of time.

  • Pushing, use of upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust it forward, downward or outward.

  • Pulling; use of upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in sustained motion.

  • Lifting to raise objects from a lower to higher position, moving objects horizontally.

  • Fingering; to pick, pinch or otherwise work with the fingers. Grasping; apply pressure to an object with fingers and palm.

  • Substantial repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, fingers or other body parts.

  • Work in considered moderate and requires exerting in excess of 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects in a manner of force, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move said objects.

  • Worker is exposed to environmental conditions occurring inside and outside of the buildings.

  • Worker is subject to hazards including a variety of chemicals.

  • Worker is also subjected to one or more of the following conditions which may affect the respiratory system or skin which may include fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation. The workers skin and breathing air may also be exposed to other fluids.
