The position is responsible for leading the talent acquisition team and responsible for all aspects of the recruitment cycle for the corporate offices, for the Supply Chain and Manufacturing function, and for the Meijer internship program. The position develops strategies, policies, and processes for the team to source, attract, and hire talent that meets the business needs as determined in collaboration with HR partners and business leader at all levels. The position will oversee the design and execution of the internship program and Meijer's college relations strategy: from recruiting activities, fostering college/university relationships, and building and marketing the Meijer brand on campus.
What You'll be Doing:
- Build and lead a highly efficient and customer-facing team of TA professionals who are business knowledgeable, proactive, responsive and client-focused, ensuring consistency in recruitment strategy and practices across the corporate and supply chain & manufacturing functions in alignment with Talent Acquisition's strategy and processes.
- Lead team responsible for identifying, evaluating, selecting and leveraging the most productive recruitment channels / tools needed to locate and present the best qualified candidates using the most cost-effective methods.
- Collaborate with Meijer leaders to build, maintain and foster relationships with targeted universities and colleges, career centers, professors, and student focused organizations.
- Manage the planning and execution of strategic events to build and strengthen the Meijer brand on university and college campuses.
- Design and facilitate the internship program experience from orientation to full time candidate conversion including project scooping, activities, leadership training and engagement, performance conversations and final presentations.
- Oversee process improvements and best practices for hourly recruiting for roles within supply chain & manufacturing function.
- Drive performance and competency expectations with recruiters and internal clients to achieve positive outcomes and business KPIs.
- Continuously improve on process and Customer Focus approach to ensure excellent hiring manager & candidate experiences.
- Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to understand business objectives in order to provide external insights on the talent market (i.e. demographic trends, employment projections) and to develop an integrated and holistic hiring strategy.
- Collaborate with HR partners and business leadership on the workforce demand to meet overall business targets, as well as communication of strategy, initiatives and performance metrics; Hold regular, recurring meetings with internal business clients and HR generalists.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maximize the conversion of interns to full time team members.
- Serve as a consultant for business leaders to advise on their internship and entry level hiring needs.
- Identify, develop, and implement innovative sourcing strategies for key roles that result in quality talent to meet workforce needs now and in the future; focus on building a proactive and nimble recruitment operational model.
- Partner with broader TA team to ensure consistent standards are built and adhered to across the enterprise acquisition team; leverage external recruitment and talent trends to drive innovative practices that best support the business.
- Drive Meijer's diversity initiatives and objectives to ensure Meijer continues to be a top destination for diverse talent.
- Utilize data to drive talent acquisition performance, compliance, and decisions for both the business and the Talent Acquisition team
- Ensure compliance with all federal / state laws and local legislation.
- Provide prompt resolution to any recruitment delivery issues that escalate.
- Function as the corporate recruitment liaison with Meijer's Legal department to maintain compliant recruitment processes as related to pre-employment and hiring.
- Efficiently and effectively manage and/or lead recruitment activities for senior-level openings within the organization. Manage recruiting capacity demands to proactively fill the changing needs of the business.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related business field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of broad, diversified Human resources experience, talent acquisition and/or college relations experience preferred.
- Previous management experience.
- Previous retail and/or corporate experience preferred.
- Experience leading recruitment team processes across multiple functional areas. Detailed management/leadership skills. Proven track record of assessing and developing internal talent.
- Documented Recruitment Operational experience. Provide direction and guidance for policies, procedures and candidate process flow. Prior experience in creating and managing recruitment reporting activities with experience in providing on-going analysis of trends and solutions for continuous improvement.
- Metrics driven orientation - experience with scorecards, dashboards, talent assessment and succession planning. Proven experience in developing, analyzing and forming solutions to recruitment reports/metrics.
- Understanding the use of social media and all forms of new recruitment or related types of technology.
- Demonstrated project management experience with ability to effectively roll out programs.
- Ability to monitor and stay abreast of new technology and capabilities
- Prior working knowledge and expertise of applicant tracking systems.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage towards deadlines, while holding team members accountable as well. Ability to train and provide continued development to direct reports.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple demands concurrently in a fast paced Retail environment.
- Excellent interviewing skills and strong written and oral communication skills. Able to effectively listen and provide solutions. Detailed negotiating and influencing skills.
- Knowledge of behavior-based interview techniques. Ability to generate metrics and provide critical reports to Senior Leaders.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective Recruiting related Presentations.
- Proven track record of managing senior executive relationships and the ability to collaborate and build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
