Senior Director of Software Development-Cloud Storage

Were looking for a Senior Director of Software Development with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, storage systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services. As a Senior Director of Software Development, you will lead a large software development team and be responsible for major components of Oracles Cloud Infrastructure, specifically in the space of Cloud Storage.

You should be a distributed systems generalist, able to architect broad systems interactions, while being very hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and lower-level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. Storage domain knowledge is desired but not required.

This position is required to work in our Santa Clara, CA office. Full-time with full Oracle benefits.

Reporting to VP of storage, your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

• Providing leadership, direction and strategy and executing on the identified strategy
• Representing the organization at the SVP and EVP level
• Managing geographically distributed teams
• Delivering large scale project on-time with the high quality
• Keeping a high operational bar

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems, preferably as a service owner
• 5+ years of experience in managing large-scale organizations with multiple layers of management
• Strong knowledge of Java, C++ or C, and experience with scripting languages such as Python.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Working familiarity with storage and file protocols and standard network architectures.
• Strong understanding of databases, storage and distributed persistence technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $141,200 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
