We are looking for a Chamfer Operator, 1st shift-Monday-Friday

Scope: Setup, control, and operate chamfer equipment. Inspect & measure product characteristics to ensure acceptable quality level according to standard operating procedures, work instructions, check sheets, one-point lessons, visual guides and standards.

Responsibilities:



  • Work Safely at all times- using prescribed PPE, safe lifting techniques, assessing risk before beginning any task, handling materials & lubricants with care, maintaining vigilance with surroundings & co-workers.
  • Set-up and operate equipment to achieve production work order quantities by following current operating procedures, work instruction and support documentation.
  • Perform required sampling, sample preparation and product characteristic measurements using designated equipment at the frequency prescribed in work instructions, check sheets, Control Plans and/or instructions provided verbally or in writing by the area Lead, Supervisor, Manager or Quality/Engineering function
  • Visually inspect product quality characteristics at the frequency prescribed in work instructions, check sheets, Control Plans and/or instructions provided verbally or in writing by the area Lead, Supervisor, Manager or Quality/Engineering function, using the guidance of visual standards, defect mode charts, or other instructions/guidance provided.
  • Update associated records, forms, checksheets, computer files, logbooks, etc. with required information- as described in operating procedures, work instructions, control plans, checksheets, etc. (for example: product descriptions, lot codes/dates, measurement data, visual acceptability, etc.)
  • Participate in team communication sessions (for example: team meetings, shift-change meetings, tool box talks, safety training/review sessions, etc.)
  • Follow Cleaning, Inspection, Lubrication (CIL) standards, 5S cleaning schedules, general housekeeping practices, maintain organization & general cleanliness of area equipment, machinery, tools, and work area as scheduled or as needed. If CIL checklists are in use, update the checklist as appropriate for your work shift.
  • Update Daily Control System (DCS) or Machine Board, if applicable, as required. Follow Trigger Point/Escalation Protocols as defined.
  • Participate in self-development opportunities and training of others.
  • Perform other related duties as required or as directed by supervisor or manager.
  • Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the facility's Environmental Management System procedures and practices.
  • Understand the facility Quality Policy and the actual or potential impact to internal and external customers from not following required operating procedures, work instructions, control plans in the area of job responsibilities

Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent, minimum.
  • Written and verbal abilities to communicate in the English language
  • Ability to read and follow operating procedures, work instructions, labels associated with job scope
  • With proper training, ability perform job tasks independently and interdependently as part of a team
  • Mechanical capabilities experience
  • Experience in use of linear gauging measurement devices (example: micrometer, Vernier caliper, steel rule)
  • Basic computer mouse and keyboard skills
