UDR is seeking qualified candidates for Senior Technical Editor opportunities inAlbuquerque, NM.

Scope of Work
Shall provide unclassified and classified communication services support, in the production of writing as it relates to publications, exhibits, multimedia, and presentation services on an as-needed basis. The subcontractor shall furnish all personnel, materials, equipment, facilities, and delivery services necessary to fulfill the necessary Statement of Work.

Must demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple SDRs, delivering excellent customer service. The writer must possess the ability to create cohesive, structured documents based on the input from multiple authors; and must have experience of being responsible for all facets of technical writing including structure, format, and organization of the document. Proficiency with software programs, such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, is required. Support technical meetings, support project reviews, and collection and management of records decisions. Ability to work effectively in a team environment with diverse groups, produce products with short lead time, and work independently with minimal supervision.

In addition, Senior Technical Writers/Editors direct development of complex reports and documents with experience conveying technical information. Must be able to work with multiple subject-matter experts to develop documents. May supervise or review the work of the subcontractor's staff as needed. Must provide high level word processing and edition, knowledge of formatting, and grammar. Specific experience with US and international regulatory requirements to produce support safety analysis document submittals. Ability to interact with engineers or designers to understand and communicate product limitations; apply project knowledge and or conduct research through discussions with technical specialists or other resources; and demonstrate expertise with full range of technical writing tasks. Able to work both independently and in a team environment. Advanced degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.

Minimum Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in technical communications, journalism, English or other communications related field
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of writing/editing experience or twelve (12) years with related coursework.
  • Advanced degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
  • Experience in supervising or reviewing the work of others.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance ("L", "Q", or "Sigma 15")
  • Ability to gain and maintain access to and travel to Client Locations or other work sites designated by Client
