This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base

Essential Functions

  • Perform Systems Adminsitrator duties, to include: control and monitor the Telemetry Receiving Systems, the telemetry subsystems (44' Telemetry Strings, Legacy Telemetry Systems, Post Detect Telemetry Subsystem (PDTS),Translated GPS Receiving System (TGRS) and the Mobile Telemetry Receiving System (MTRS)
  • Configure telemetry systems software in preparation for all operations
  • Perform accurate daily/weekly/monthly system checks, as well as routine and emergency system restoral procedures. Perform additional administrative support to user accounts, such as password changes to multiple systems as needed
  • Create instructional documentation for task responsibilities and review procedural documentation coordinate changes or updates to documentation
  • Provide support for testing and execution of new system hardware functions for replacement of legacy equipment
  • Monitor telemetry system LAN for failures and perform system-state and user authentication backups
  • Create images for system recovery
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 or more years' experience with systems administrator or related information systems experience
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux and Microsoft operating systems preferred
  • Proficiency in computer systems troubleshooting preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applicants such as Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting and maintaining a computer system preferred
  • Knowledge of dual-state classified/unclassified communications and security practices preferred
  • Previous experience on Range Systems preferred

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Current Security Plus Certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment
  • Able to sustain prolonged periods of standing, kneeling and or repeated stooping
  • The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Travel may be required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required

The salary range for this role is $71,800 - $102,000; however, RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
