What You'll do:

We are seeking a skilled 508 Compliance Testing Specialist with expertise in ensuring digital content, applications, and IT systems meet Section 508 accessibility standards and WCAG guidelines.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct accessibility testing on websites, software, documents, and multimedia content to ensure compliance with Section 508 standards and WCAG guidelines.

  • Use automated tools and manual testing methods, including assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver, to identify accessibility issues.

  • Collaborate with developers, designers, and stakeholders to communicate findings and recommend solutions to accessibility barriers.

  • Review and remediate documents, such as PDFs and Word files, to meet accessibility requirements.

  • Provide guidance and training to team members on best practices for 508 compliance and accessibility.

  • Prepare detailed reports on compliance testing results, issue tracking, and resolution status.

  • Stay updated on evolving accessibility standards, tools, and technologies to enhance testing processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Proven experience in 508 compliance testing or digital accessibility testing.

  • Knowledge of Section 508 standards and WCAG guidelines.

  • Proficiency with accessibility testing tools such as WAVE, AXE, or Siteimprove.

  • Familiarity with assistive technologies, including screen readers and magnifiers.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for identifying and resolving accessibility issues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Section 508 Trusted Tester Certification

  • IAAP certifications such as CPACC or WAS.

  • Experience remediating accessible documents, including PDFs and other digital formats.

  • Background in web development or familiarity with HTML, CSS, and ARIA standards.

  • Familiarity with Agile development processes and accessibility testing integration.

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$73,337.00 - $151,628.00
