Job Summary

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Service Retail Manager to join our team at the University of Idaho in Pocatello, ID. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the operations of multiple food service retail locations on campus, driving innovation, customer satisfaction, and financial success.

Nestled in the scenic beauty of southeast Idaho, Pocatello offers a blend of small-town charm and vibrant culture. Known as the "Gateway to the Northwest," it boasts access to outdoor adventures, a rich history, and a welcoming community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple retail locations, including national branded concepts, ensuring efficiency and excellence.
Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and develop managers, supervisors, and frontline food service staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Client and Customer Satisfaction: Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and customer service, aligning with client expectations and company standards.
Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, complete financial reports, and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to health department regulations, QA standards, and company policies, maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.
Marketing Initiatives: Drive marketing efforts to increase revenue, enhance student satisfaction, and promote retail offerings.
Cash Management: Implement and maintain best practices for cash handling processes.
Adaptability: Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the operation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of retail operational food service management experience.
  • Retail marketing experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing and presentation.
  • Experience with cash retail operations.
  • Financial, budgetary and computational skills.
  • Leadership, management and coaching skills.
  • ServSafe Certification is preferred.
