Summary:

The Sr. Manager, SRGM Pricing Strategy will drive creation and implementation of net price realization strategies and analytical approaches that maximize total top- and bottom-line value creation for Hershey's U.S. portfolio. This will include delivering insights-based, consumer-back recommendations on strategic pricing to Hershey senior management (up to CEO/Executive Committee level) as well as developing and maintaining formal occasion-based price/pack architecture initiatives from a branded and/or package-type lens. This will require strong and proactive collaboration with other functions including Commercial Planning, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Sales, Category Management, Finance, and U.S. Strategy, as well as the ability to drive change management across the breadth of the organization. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to help achieve Hershey's ambition of having a best-in-class, Strategic Revenue Growth Management function. This individual will lead a team of 5 full-time employees and have significant opportunities to influence up/out beyond the SRGM team to the highest levels of The Hershey Company.

This position requires personal leadership and initiative, critical and strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, and strong business and financial acumen. This individual will develop pricing recommendations and drive decision making in conjunction with Corporate, U.S., and U.S. functional leadership.

Summary of major duties:



  • Proposes short-term pricing moves and long-term pricing strategy recommendations grounded in analytical rigor that drive value creation and deliver on U.S. portfolio/brand business objectives (e.g., share, profit, innovation, mix improvement)
  • Defines pack size ratios in order to establish effective price/pack architecture and price curves, also potentially recommending creation of new packs to address channel and/or occasion-based white-space opportunities
  • Sets brand / package-type price positioning and target price gaps in order to optimize pricing vs. competition and incent positive mix
  • Develops pricing strategy recommendations for new products
  • Develops, manages, and executes performance management processes, including standardized KPI reporting for planning and business review purposes



Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

* Very strong technical skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint / Thinkcell, Tableau, Alteryx), with proven ability to synthesize multiple data sources (e.g., internal TPM and P&L data, 3rd party syndicated data) to develop insights and strategy recommendations

* Understanding of, and/or experience with, econometric modeling outputs and price elasticities

* Strong analytical skills and business / financial acumen

* Strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills (incl. experience communicating to corporate senior management levels)

* Problem-solving mentality, intellectually curious, and strong critical thinking skills

* Entrepreneurial skills and style

* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, people and initiatives simultaneously

* Strong knowledge of syndicated data (e.g. IRI, Nielsen) and its nuances

* Strong working knowledge of SAP is a plus

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:


* BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Business Administration or Equivalent

* Master's degree preferred but not required

Experience:

* 7+ years of business experience, with 3+ years of experience in FMCG pricing strategy or pricing analytics roles strongly preferred

* Ideally experience in Finance, Marketing, Sales, or analytical function (e.g., Category Mgmt)

* Familiarity with FMCG industry customer base and working knowledge of retail merchandising and in store execution tactics strongly preferred

* People management experience
