The Manager of Special Projects is responsible for leading and implementing strategic initiatives that support the district's mission to deliver a world-class education to all students. This role will focus on driving transformative programs across the district, fostering innovation in instructional and operational practices, and ensuring that all projects align with district goals around student achievement, equity, and operational excellence. The Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, design, and execute high impact initiatives that improve educational outcomes and operational efficiency.


Essential Functions



  • Lead the development, execution, and management of strategic projects (e.g., emergency notification protocols, cell phone policy) aimed at improving student outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess project workflows and processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement best practices and process optimizations to enhance project efficiency and impact.
  • Identify emerging trends and best practices in education and integrate them into the organization's strategic initiatives.
  • Spearhead the creation and or revision of policies and procedures related to and impacting schools and district.
  • Collaborate with various offices and schools to ensure comprehensive policy development, from inception to implementation. Work across teams with various staff to project manage and coordinate, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Lead special projects aimed at addressing specific needs or challenges within the school system related to student well-being and safety. Oversees, monitors, and facilitates the integration of the projects/initiatives identified by the Chief of Schools (and CEO).
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful and on-time delivery of all initiatives.
  • Work across teams with various staff to project manage and coordinate, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Develop and implement metrics for tracking the success and impact of strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure that all projects are in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations and policies.
  • Foster a culture of innovation by promoting creative problem-solving and continuous improvement within the district.
  • Ensure the monitoring and sharing of data to increase school performance and ensure goals of the district and office.
  • Collect, monitor, discuss, analyze, and present data and reports to members of the office and district staff.
  • Prepare comprehensive compliance reports, develop, and facilitate engaging presentations or briefings as needed to effectively communicate information to various stakeholders. All of which aligns to the district's messaging and branding.

Desired Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in education, public policy, business, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management, strategic planning, or education administration.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale initiatives with measurable success.
  • Familiarity with best practices in education, innovation, and operational improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, etc.) including advanced functions. Strong skills in creating and designing presentations. Demonstrated expertise in utilizing technology effectively, with a particular focus on virtual platforms and tools for communication and collaboration.

Please be advised that the salary range listed in this job posting represents the total salary range applicable to this position and does not reflect the hiring range for external candidates. The hiring range is defined as follows: $90,850 - $119,435. It is important to note that this hiring range may not be applicable to internal candidates.
