As the Quality Management System Engineer II, you will be a key contributor to shaping and sustaining excellence within Watlow's Quality team. Based at our Advanced Technology Center in St. Louis, Missouri, you'll report to an Engineering Manager and become an integral part of a collaborative, high-impact team.

In this role, you'll support the development and maintenance of our Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring it meets and exceeds industry standards such as ISO 9001/2015. Your work will encompass a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and their connection to quality, as you spearhead auditing efforts for regulatory compliance and customer certifications.

By identifying nonconformities and driving corrective actions, you'll ensure certifications are upheld and our products continue to meet the highest standards our customers expect. You'll also collaborate with cross-functional teams across the enterprise, making a measurable impact on the quality and reliability of our innovative solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities



  • Perform all work safely by following safety rules and proactively offering suggestions to enhance and maintain a secure work environment.
  • This role does not include direct reports but requires managing QMS-related initiatives and auditing functions, including leading cross-departmental teams. Collaborate with QMS process owners across the business to ensure active engagement and full compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain the Quality Management System to meet all required compliance standards.
  • Plan, conduct, and manage internal and external audits for customers and regulatory bodies. Address and close all post-audit actions promptly to maintain certifications.
  • Provide QMS training to employees, ensuring they have the knowledge and competence to effectively implement and uphold QMS standards.
  • Lead efforts such as management reviews, risk assessments, 6S events, and continuous improvement projects, ensuring timely execution and resolution of associated actions.
  • Investigate QMS compliance issues and collaborate with relevant departments to implement effective corrective actions.
  • Travel up to 25% is expected to support audits, training, and compliance activities



Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or two-year degree and related experience, or equivalent experience (5-8 years)
  • Experience working with a QMS in a disciplined regulated industry and regulatory surveillance experience preferred.
  • Experience leading individuals and/or teams and managing deliverables to be completed on time.



Desired Qualifications



  • Experience with implementing and/or managing a quality system that is ISO9001 / 2015 compliant.
  • Experience with internal and external auditing. Ideal candidate is a certified Lead Auditor.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, maintain and develop procedures, controlled documents, and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with APQP/PPAP, FAIR, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, Gauge R&R, preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge in reading and understanding procedures, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and host internal and external audits. The position will require Lead Auditor certification, but not required at time of hire. Training will be provided as needed.
  • Versed in basic Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
