The College of Dentistry, Dentistry Office of Research at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a full-time academic professional Clinical Research Coordinator to manage and direct the coordination and timely handling of all components of clinical research protocols, including pre- and post- research activities, for the College's Clinical Research Center (CRC).

The CRC is a resource for researchers in all Departments in the College of Dentistry that conduct clinical or translational research. This position is responsible for the implementation and conduct of multiple research projects. It develops effective recruitment strategies for research participants and coordinates comprehensive participant schedules to maintain compliance with protocol requirements. The Clinical Research Coordinator assists principal investigators in the preparation of IRB submissions and the daily management of clinical research. This position oversees and participates in participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, testing, and data management of studies conducted in the CRC.

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a health care field such as dental hygiene, nursing, mental health, psychology, pharmaceutical sciences, social science, or a related field required. Knowledge of dental and medical terminology and dental procedures preferred. At least one year of experience in clinical research activity preferred. Experience working in a clinical research setting, working with federal regulations, and working with IRBs preferred. Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) preferred.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to manage multiple tasks. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of research protocols, principles, and procedures; knowledge of aspects of clinical trials such as screening, interviewing, and case reports forms; knowledge of experimental design, mathematics, statistics, computer applications, and computer data management; oral and written communication skills; knowledge of a science such as biology or psychology; ability to identify, produce, organize, evaluate and interpret data; knowledge of ethics and regulatory procedures (i.e. informed consent, IRB applications, and data safety and monitoring plans); involved with clinical trials and other clinical research; ability to work as a member of a project team; knowledge of clinical tasks required for research (e.g. phlebotomy, centrifugation, interviewing).

The budgeted salary range for the position is $65,000 to $85,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
