Summary: As a direct report to the Data Management Officer, the Data Associate will be responsible for validating data, executing tests, collecting, and distributing information throughout the Business Intelligence department. In addition, the Data Associate will support Business Intelligence team members with gathering, documenting, organizing, and developing reports as well as helping to plan, design, program, and implement projects for various stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\

  • Collaborate and Analyze data for data quality and validity issues.
  • Identify, analyze, and document inconsistencies in daily operations. Correct the inconsistency and/or escalate the problem to the next level.
  • Develop competency in understanding the data architectures, data flows and hierarchy of the distinct systems and their interconnections and relationships to support designing and developing reports, extractions, and queries.
  • Assist in the collection and consolidation of required information and third-party data.
  • Completes all yearly compliance training and testing and complies with bank, federal, and state regulations. Complies with Bank Policies and Procedures. Adheres to departmental and bank-wide service

Qualifications:. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience: Generally, requires a four-year degree, preferably, in business administration, finance, or data/information sciences plus one to three years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Knowledge :

  • Excellent attention to detail, data accuracy, and quality of output.
  • Ability to develop design models using tools such as Draw.IO, Visio, and Sparx.
  • Ability to develop ETL implementations leveraging SSIS, SQL/TSQL, SSMA, and Power Automate.
  • Ability to develop and/or support augmenting our environment by understanding and using modern applications tools and techniques such as Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Ability to develop Data Flows, Data dictionaries, documentation, and procedures to support the understanding and business continuity using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Use various tools to conduct data cleansing, audit, and peer review.
  • Understanding database design methodologies (conceptual, logical, and physical) and implementation model types (Star, Snowflake) and their uses.
  • Experience with DW modeling types of Kimball or Inmon preferred.
  • DBA Administration knowledge.
  • A moderate proficiency with reporting and analytics tools such as SSRS and Power BI would be preferred to support other DMA team members.

Computer Skills: Must be familiar with SQL and have experience with one or more Business intelligence Reporting platforms such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal Reports, Tableau, Cognos, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and in report writing software (ex. SSRS, PowerBI). Possesses understanding in the areas of application programming, database, and system design.
