midsouth.ualr.edu Summary of Job Duties:The MidSOUTH Training Director is responsible for program oversight and management of the Division of Children and Family Services contracted New Staff Training at five Regional Training Academies across the state. This position will oversee and monitor the training program for fidelity and continuous quality improvement in various state-contracted deliverables. This is a twelve-month grant-funded position and employment is contingent upon continued funding. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work with a current Arkansas LSW license, and current enrollment in a qualifying Master's degree program; OR
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education, Technical Writing, Public Administration, or a closely related field;
  • Three (3) years of professional experience with children and families;
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Experience in training delivery or teaching;
  • Experience working for a state child welfare agency, working with a state child welfare agency through contracted services, or working with staff training in a human services field.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Master's degree in social work with current Arkansas LMSW/LCSW licensure;
  • Experience with REDCap, or a similar data management system;
  • Experience providing direct supervision of individuals/teams;
  • Experience and training in curriculum development and training delivery;
  • Experience with project management, and grant/contract-related projects;
  • Experience working and/or coordinating with state agencies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Collaborate with DCFS and MidSOUTH leadership to oversee the implementation and fidelity of MidSOUTH's New Staff Training Model;
  • Participate in Academic Partnerships and Community Partnerships to promote knowledge dissemination, training, and research;
  • Participate in DCFS's Training Skills Development Team;
  • Serve on work groups representing MidSOUTH;
  • Maintain positive customer relationships with funders and stakeholders.

Supervision:

  • Provide direct supervision of the Regional Team Leaders, Statewide Training Coordinator, and others as assigned by the MidSOUTH Director;
  • Regularly conduct site-visits to each of the MidSOUTH Training Academies across the state;
  • Complete annual performance evaluations for all direct reports;
  • Provide oversight and training of Workday tasks for all direct reports;
  • Provide oversight and training of the REDCap data management system of all program staff;
  • Coordinate the hiring, onboarding, and Training-of-Trainers for all new Regional Team Leaders and provide oversight to the Training-of-Trainers for all newly hired Child Welfare Trainers;
  • Regularly facilitate training team meetings, team meetings with direct reports, and one-on-one meetings to provide coaching and feedback as needed.

Program Management:

  • Ensure the program's fidelity through direct observation of training;
  • Ensure contract deliverables are met;
  • Responsible for observing, mentoring, and coaching for continuous quality improvement of the Regional Team Leaders and Child Welfare Trainers;
  • Oversee program documentation, evaluation process, and monthly data reporting requirements;
  • Attend quarterly Regional Team Meetings, and facilitate in the event the Regional Team Leader is unavailable;
  • Oversee the schedule for all contracted DCFS New Staff Trainings to include Program Assistant Training, Foundation Training, Concentration Training, Extra-Help Training, Supervisor Training, or any variation as outlined in the DCFS New Staff Training Model;
  • Submit a monthly report of progress towards contract deliverables to the Child Welfare Contracts Coordinator;
  • Maintain knowledge of the IV-E contract budget to ensure efficient spending of state-contracted funds.

Statewide Academy Management:

  • Ensure responsible facilities management at all five regional training academies;
  • Maintain communication with the Regional Team Leader at each Academy to address any physical facility needs;
  • Responsible for oversight of any Academy's renovation or remodeling;
  • Ensure accurate provision of inventory records;
  • Ensure timely consideration of leasing agreements and/or facility paperwork;
  • Coordinate facility scheduling by outside agencies as needed.

Additional Information:

Salary Information:

$58,500 - $61,500
