Overview

The Senior Interior Designer is to oversee the implementation of the interior design for all Carle Foundation Hospital Facilities. Interior Design and Decor - Oversee the development and implementation of the system-wide interior design master plan. Function as a major resource for all departments in regards to compliance with the policy. Provide direction on system-wide facility projects relating to general renovation, interior finishes, furnishings, modular furniture, space planning and wayfinding. Provide and/or arrange for project architectural design, estimating, acquisition, supervision of labor (outside and in-house) and materials; periodic review of work for compliance to standards, budget, and schedule. Supports the Carle Project Managers to ensure their projects have the correct standards for finishes, furnishings, furniture, signage, art, etc. in addition to coordinating the purchase and installation of these items. Develop and maintain ergonomic standards for furniture that can be used for employees with a need.

Responsibilities

The Interior Designer will work to ensure the implementation of interior design projects at Carle Foundation Hospital.
Coordinating and assuring implementation of system-wide interior design master plan on all remodeling projects. Working with all in-house staff (Painters, Carpenters, etc) and contractors to assure hospital décor standards are met.
Overseeing implementation of hospital wayfinding systems. Includes all interior and exterior signage and the development of policies, procedures and standards relating to wayfinding.
Project management activities focusing on décor, furnishings, modular furniture, space planning and wayfinding. Design and management of projects per plans and specifications within budget and quality standards and coordinate communication with various hospital departments. Support the décor, modular furniture and space planning aspects of the work of other construction managers including the coordination of purchasing and installation of all products that fall under the interior design purview.
Utilizing CAD files for remodel/construction-related projects at all Carle buildings. Create required drawings for projects.
Overseeing all aspects of system-wide furnishings including furniture, modular furniture, artwork, signage and décor. Design new layouts and coordinate purchase and installation. Determine value of and maintain inventory of used furniture and repurpose when feasible to reduce costs.
Determining customer’s space needs and/or works with them to determine new space needs during relocation/remodel. Understands space ergonomics and space planning techniques.
Working to implement quality improvement efforts within the construction activities and other requested projects that include weekly coordination meetings and day-to-day contacts with hospital departments.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $33.72per hour - $58per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
