JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Supports the formulation technology team with chemical and physical analyses.
* Utilizing instruments and techniques such as Particle Size Analyzer, Microscopy, HPLC, GC, IC, Rheometry, Vacuum Filtration, etc., to help investigate, characterize, and quantify various pesticide formulations throughout the R&D lifecycle.
* Receive and record detailed sample information in a lab notebook.
* Note and log the different parameters and settings modulated while testing.
* Clean and care for equipment after use.
* Properly discard spent test material.
* Participate in team meetings, plan the weekly schedule with the analytical scientist, and proactively notify the scientist when reagents and materials are running low and more need to be purchased.
* Contributes to the Morrisville site safety programs.
* Assist other functions in the formulation team with other duties as requested, such as: assisting with overall site inventory management, hazardous waste disposal
* Reports to the Analytical Scientist.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* B.S. Degree in a related field of study
* 1 - 3 years of relevant experience
* HPLC experience
* Experience handling chemicals in a lab environment.
* Experience working with instruments
* Good computer skills, especially of common MS Office applications.
* Experience in chemical hygiene and understanding Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
* Strong willingness to learn new skills to flexibly support other functions such as the Formulations Technology team.
* Good communication skills (oral & written) and able to work in a team environment
* Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to change
* Able to handle work at a fast pace
* Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Promptly communicate and corroborate the results with the relevant parties.
* Be able to accurately weigh and quantitatively transfer milligram and milliliter level quantities.
* Be able to operate different analytical instruments.
* Be able to work in a safe and clean manner.
* Be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Be able to follow methods and SOPs.
