Job Overview

Responsible for programming, preparation, operation, welding, and welding operations on machine to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

A Day In The Life

Operators will be required to set up, adjust machines, and equipment to produce an acceptable quality product.

Perform all position welding on a diversified line of standard weldments and structures in accordance with code certifications, alignments, dimensional and general inspection requirements.

This position requires welding of steel products and familiarity with MIG welding process.

Will receive instructions, prints, and route sheets for the job. Will organize and plan operational duties for the shift he/she is assigned.

Will be required to set-up, operate, program, and trouble shoot Robot Systems (material handling, drilling, and welding) of other robotics pieces of equipment in the welding process to achieve acceptable levels in productivity, and quality.

Perform all required quality tests, certifications, and production checks as required by Quality Assurance or his/her supervisor.

Measures devices and gauges to determine thickness and size of metal.

Operators will continually visually inspect product, record production as required, report/record scrap, and other various duties or rework as assigned.

Operators will be required to make routine equipment adjustments to ensure the process is always efficient and welding to company standards.

Will be required to manually repair, or hand weld some products that are below standard, due to tolerance variables during the Robotic operations.

Perform daily upkeep and routine maintenance, keeping equipment and production area in good working order.

Must be able to work as a team.

Ability to multi-task as needed.

Knowledge of proper use of safety equipment, i.e., safety glasses, ear plugs, and work boots where necessary.

Ability to move about the facility moving product.Lift up to 35 pounds.

Must wear all PPE required for the specific work area.

Occasionally stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Stand in one area for up to two (2) hours at a time.

Turn and assemble production parts with fingers and hands for up to two (2) hours at a time.

Work usually takes place in a manufacturing/warehouse environment where conditions can be reflective of the outside elements.
