Tax Administrator

Job Summary:

The Tax Administrator is responsible for oversight of tax administration for the local office and coordinates with National Tax Administration to ensure tax administrative processes are followed in compliance with firm policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations. Keeps local office Tax leadership and Administrative leadership aware of potential concerns or risk associated with tax processing. Position works independently of the Office Administrator unless assigned to work on internal office projects.

Job Duties:



  • Reviews GoFileRoom to ensure the office is in compliance with best practices and procedures which includes:

    • Timely completion of deliverables
    • Ensuring that all relevant BDO workflows are accurate
    • Appropriate use of tax years
    • Tracking entities separately
    • Ensures all workflows are completed

  • Ensures all tax professionals and administrative staff are following tax best practices and procedures.
  • Trains tax professionals, administrative staff and tax new hires on GoFileRoom (GFR).
  • Oversees and conducts tax processes including:

    • Due date tracking
    • E-filing
    • Tax return processing
    • Scanning and paperless procedures
    • Tax engagement letters

  • Monitors GoSystem RS to ensure administrative processes are completed accurately including:

    • E-filing
    • E-file acceptance acknowledgements
    • Tax return rollovers
    • Printing organizers
    • Populating document management system fields

  • Runs reports as needed including:

    • GoSystem RS queries
    • GoFileRoom (GFR) - Due dates and outstanding workflows
    • E-filing status reports

  • Orders tax supplies including:

    • Master tax guides
    • Codes and regulations
    • All other tax technical materials
    • Tax folders

  • Assist or serve as backup to other offices with tax administrative duties as requested (E-filing or GoFileRoom (GFR) administration).
  • Assist the National Tax Technology Team on projects as requested.
  • Other duties as required


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • Provides performance feedback to the Office Administrator on tax administrative personnel performance and adherence to following tax processes, procedures and best practices.
  • May provide individual coaching, feedback, and or training to administrative personnel related to tax processes, procedures and best practices.


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:



  • High school diploma, required
  • Associate or bachelor's degree, preferred


Experience:



  • More than five (5) years related work experience, required
  • Prior experience in a professional services firm, required
  • Knowledge of tax deadlines, tax forms, and tax processes and procedures, required
  • Prior experience with training and presenting to multiple levels of employees, preferred


License/Certifications:



  • N/A


Software:



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, required
  • PeopleSoft experience, preferred


Language:



  • N/A

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $85,000 - $110,000
