The VP of Business Systems is a strategic and hands on leader responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of the company's software applications portfolio. This role combines technical expertise with leadership acumen to drive innovation, ensure optimal performance of enterprise systems, and align technology initiatives with the company's business goals. The VP of Business Systems will manage a team of NetSuite administrators, developers, and analysts, ensuring delivery of high-quality solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
Job Duties:
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the company's ERP and applications strategy in alignment with organizational growth goals.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives based on business needs.
- Architecture
- Hands-on architect to deploy scalable NetSuite solutions to meet manufacturing specific requirements, focusing on work orders, WIP, and assembly processes.
- Analyze and document current manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement using NetSuite capabilities.
- Optimize inventory costing methodologies, including average costing, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Develop solutions to track material, labor, and overhead costs throughout the production lifecycle.
- Application Management
- Oversee the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise applications.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of all applications.
- Establish metrics to monitor performance and proactively address issues.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of NetSuite administrators, developers, and business analysts.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Define team goals and conduct performance evaluations.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and consultants.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure delivery of services within scope and budget.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Budget and Resource Management
- Develop and manage the Business Systems department budget.
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
Required Qualifications:
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA preferred but not required
- 7+ years in IT leadership roles with a proven track record of managing teams and delivering successful projects.
- 5+ years of NetSuite experience with a focus on manufacturing environments. Proven expertise in Work Orders, WIP, BOMs, assembly builds, and inventory costing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience analyzing manufacturing processes and aligning ERP solutions with business needs.
- Proficiency in SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, SuiteAnalytics, and SuiteBuilder.
- Knowledge of system integration tools such as Boomi.
- Deep understanding of application development frameworks, cloud platforms, and integration technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NetSuite Certification (ERP Consultant, SuiteCloud Developer, or SuiteFoundation).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
