Job Title: Maintenance Technician Location: Washington DC Job Type: Full-Time Job Overview Are you a skilled maintenance professional looking for a hands-on role in a dynamic apartment community? Join our team as an Skilled Maintenance Technician, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring our property remains in excellent condition. This position requires a mix of technical maintenance expertise and strong customer service skills. From diagnosing issues and completing repairs to organizing work orders and maintaining the property, we seek a dedicated individual who can work independently while collaborating with the property management team. Responsibilities & Duties Conduct routine property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs Perform plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks and unclogging drains Carry out electrical repairs, such as replacing light fixtures and troubleshooting wiring issues Maintain and repair HVAC systems as needed Repair and paint walls, ceilings, and doors to maintain unit and property aesthetics Install, repair, and maintain household appliances Handle carpentry tasks, including repairing/installing floors, doors, and cabinets Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests Collaborate with property management and team members to schedule maintenance work Oversee and coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs Maintain landscaping and grounds as required Provide excellent customer service to residents by addressing maintenance concerns in a professional and timely manner Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies Qualifications & Skills Previous experience in maintenance or a related field required Certification in HVAC (universal with a minimum of 3 years hands on experience), plumbing, electrical Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team Familiarity with health and safety regulations Experience using property management software is a plus Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor tasks A valid driver's license and reliable transportation Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems Proficiency with hand and power tools Strong organizational and time management skills Customer service experience in a residential setting is a plus Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals Willingness to be on-call for emergencies Why Join Us?
