Join our dynamic team as a Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility (EHP) Systems Engineer and become a vital contributor to support NASA as an Oceaneering Teammate on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. As an integral part of our organization, you'll play a crucial role in the Systems Engineering and Technical Integration section in the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II (JETS II) Contract.

Someone in this role would typically have a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of two (2) years of experience. This position can be hired at any level in our professional career framework, depending on business need at the time of hire.

**International travel may be required. Straight time overtime, 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), and/or 1 day of telework per week may be available**

Duties & Responsibilities

SOME OF YOUR MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

* Assess system level architectures, perform trade study assessments, and update recommended architectures.
* Review and provide input to system and sub-system level requirements.
* Develop verification and validation plan including verification matrix (success criteria for requirements) and track items to completion.
* Perform requirements and interface management, including preparation of change requests, assessment of impacts and management of requirements traceability, updates to verification planning and verification criteria, and interface control documents.
* Provide written and oral statuses in the form of presentations or reports to help represent the EHP at program and engineering boards.
* Prepare materials and track open actions for integrated analysis cycles.
* Work with team members to perform risk management, including identification, mitigation planning and tracking.
* Adapt to new design constraints, functions, and configurations as needed.
* Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors.
* Review initial content of Interface Control Document (ICD) and collaborate with other subsystem teams to define EHP requirements and capture subsystem needs.
* Integrate requirements flow-down (for example: Level 2 to Level 3 to Level 4).
* Manage the requirements from environmental specifications and applicable splinter documents.
* Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

* BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience within the systems engineering fields.
* Prefer aerospace or mechanical engineering degree.
* Experience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes.
* INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification.
* Working knowledge of NASA, JSC, and ISS standard practices and requirements including safety, fault tolerance, and unique disciplines.
* Familiarity with NASA/JSC documentation databases and SharePoint sites.
* Familiarity with state-of-the-art requirements management and model-based systems engineering tools.
* Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.
* Experience with power requirements and analyses.

PREFERRED

* 10 years of relevant experience in systems engineering.
* Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork.
* Experience with NASA processes.
* Knowledge and experience with DOORS Next Generation.

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
