Responsible to manage continuous improvement activities at NORDAM suppliers; provides support and extensive knowledge of processes at every operation sequence to ensure schedules for delivery of product as well as contractual quality and costs are met utilizing high level and effective relationship building communication.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivery and quality performance improvement across NORDAM.
  • Leads effort to review manufacturing and special processes at the supplier to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluates total cost of procurement to support best sourcing decisions.
  • Manage and monitor supply chain to support P & L initiatives and objectives such as continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and capacity assessment and monitoring.
  • Manages the development and improvement of existing supplier development and supplier management processes including risk management, operational readiness, supplier improvement plans, and supplier development.
  • Works in parallel with work transfer on product transitions, performs risk mitigation and supplier capacity analysis as part of process. Manage priorities for corporate rate readiness assessments at supply base.
  • Oversees the engagement of poorly performing suppliers. Ensure proper diagnosis, corrective actions plans, and continued monitoring. Manages the supplier performance team to handle priorities within the supply base based on performance.
  • Leads supplier assessment and categorization effort. Collaborates with Supply Chain specialists and commodity managers to support NORDAM goals in category and commodity management.
  • Engages with NPI (New Product Introduction) suppliers to assist in managing test schedules, qualification activities and facilitates communication with responsible engineering team.
  • Liaises with departments, such as Engineering and Quality, to ensure specification compliance.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. Business, Materials Management or other appropriate discipline.

Minimum Other. Six sigma / continuous improvement program green belt required.

Preferred Other. Six sigma / continuous improvement program black belt.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

Experience Requirements

8 year(s) Related experience and/or training in management and supplier development and compliance in a manufacturing environment.

Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills to include effective, persuasive communication style while maintaining and building good relationships with suppliers; must be both professional and assertive to ensure the supplier's perspective is considered while ensuring NORDAM's best interest Exceptional program/project management skills.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels including executives.
  • Ability to present data in a visually and orally succinct manner.
  • Ability to deal with difficult suppliers and to identify potential risks or errors.
  • Proven skills in developing supplier relationships and understanding of related Legal terms and concepts.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and keep projects on track.
  • High level of organizational skills and ability to handle multiple time sensitive deadlines; self-starter, ability to take initiative.
  • Sound working knowledge of computer systems and applications; competent in the use of standard software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Access is preferred.

Work Environment Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
