The RoleAs a key member of the tax department, the Principal Tax Analyst will participate in the preparation and review of quarterly tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, the preparation and review of federal, state and foreign tax returns, manage the estimated and extension process, develop responses to tax notices and tax audits, calculation of the tax provision to return, and various special projects. This position will report to a Senior Tax Manager.
Your Impact
- Provide support in areas such as US Federal and state income tax compliance, tax accounting (ASC 740), and SEC reporting.
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns, extensions, quarterly estimated tax payments, ensuring audit-ready documentation is maintained for all tax filings.
- Manage and resolve various state tax notices.
- Support and lead all federal and state income tax audits, including compiling the requested data, summarizing the company's tax positions, and appealing tax authority decisions as necessary.
- Respond to various customer forms required from various foreign jurisdictions.
- Compile information necessary to complete US/Foreign/Global tax provision.
- Utilize OneSource Tax Provision software in calculation of quarterly and annual Global tax provision.
- Coordinate and manage the Federal and State income tax calendars, estimated tax payments, and monthly reporting of cash taxes.
- Conduct tax research and prepare detailed memos on a variety of federal, state and international issues related to corporations.
- Manage the foreign tax payments, tax calendar, and organize documentation.
- Perform and oversee SOX compliance procedures and coordinate with internal audit.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- 4-6 years related experience in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department (including tax compliance and tax provision).
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Strong Excel skills as well as experience with other Microsoft office applications.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
- Possess the curiosity and eagerness to learn new emerging technology and business trends.
- Experience with Oracle, OneSource Provision, and Alteryx software is helpful but not required.
- CPA, MST preferred.
